Welcome to the film side of my wildlife adventures! These short films are a collection of moments I’ve been lucky enough to capture while out with my camera — each one focusing on a different species I’ve come across here in Hampshire and beyond.
From quiet observations to unexpected encounters, these videos aim to share the beauty, behaviour, and character of the wild animals I’ve spent time with. They're not polished documentaries — just honest glimpses into the natural world, filmed with patience, curiosity. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I enjoyed making them.
High in the forests of northern Finland, golden eagles carve out their existence in one of the harshest winter environments on Earth. This video captures intimate moments of these majestic birds in the snow — raw, powerful, and unfiltered. The footage was gathered at a site maintained by Finnature, an organization that has been feeding wild eagles in the area for decades. According to Finnature, the food provided comes from roadkill carcasses — a method intended to support eagle populations without harming other wildlife. While I remain somewhat skeptical of this claim, I sincerely hope no animals were killed solely for the purpose of attracting the eagles for photography. That said, feeding stations like this do play a role in supporting the survival of juvenile eagles and boosting breeding success during Finland’s brutal winters. It's a complex balance between conservation, observation, and ethics — one worth thinking about as you watch.

Flight Over the Isles
While out walking with friends along a remote ridgeline in the beautiful Hebrides, Scotland, we were treated to an unforgettable wildlife moment. As we paused to take in the view, a pair of White-Tailed Eagles suddenly appeared below us—gliding effortlessly on the wind, just beneath our feet. I was lucky enough to capture some incredible flying footage of these magnificent birds, also known as "Sea Eagles," in their natural element. Their wingspans, power, and grace were truly awe-inspiring. Please excuse any un steadiness and blurry moments, this was shot completely free hand without a tripod and was extremely difficult in the moment. But I'm extremely proud of what I did manage to get considering the circumstances.

Ghost of the Dusk
As dusk settles over the fields with challenging light to film in, a lone barn owl takes flight - graceful, silent and mesmerising. This quiet encounter captures the beauty of the countryside at twighlight, when the world slows down and nature reveals its hidden moments. Watch as this ghostly hunter moves effortlessly through the fading light.

Majestic Hunters of the North
A montage of the footage I was able to capture while in Finland back in March 2025. I was in a purpose built hide run by Finnature, these hides are for photography purposes and give you the opportunity to survey and obtain footage and images of these incredible animals in their natural environment in some incredible scenery. During winter months, Finnature maintains several feeders for birds. They've maintained feeding sites for Golden Eagles in Utajärvi for over a decade. Feeding Golden Eagles in the wild helps the young Eagles to survive over the harsh winter months where food supply is minimal. It also improves the breeding success of the adult birds. Forest feeders provide continuous supply of food for small birds but also for the Goshawks and Eagle Owls in the area. It also improves the breeding success of the adult birds. Forest feeders provide continuous supply of food for small birds but also for the Goshawks and Eagle Owls in the area. Finnature informed me the food provided for these birds of prey were sourced through road killings or natural causes which are reported to Finnature for them to retrieve for their feeders. They are not killed for the purpose of feeding the birds of prey. Enjoy the footage I was able to capture while on my travels through a bitterly cold northern Finland.
